Hi

We are travelling from North Yorkshire down to Cornwall for 2 weeks in August and we are planning to travel overnight leaving at midnight. We have booked in at Ashe Farm for a day to break the journey up, and have a little bit of catch up sleep. My question is, where is best to fill up with fuel on the journey south somewhere on the M5, with easy access for a competant but nervous tower embarking on there first long haul trip! Thanks for your time guys

Pleanty of places tbh. If you get off at junction 25 of the m5 (taunton) there is a shell garage about 2\3 mins off of the motorway.
Same with junction 24 of the m5, about 5 mins back into Bridgwater there is a bp garage. Pleanty of room at both to get a caravan around, or like said above, cribbs causeway has 3\4 fuel stations. Within easy reach of the m5.

Asda at cribbs causway, look out for the signs when you get to the bristol area.
Leave the motorway at exit 17 and keep going left for a short distance until you see the petrol station at Asda.
very easy to get to even if you are towing.
You will need to use your card for petrol because the pay booths are not in use during the night.
Asda is also open 24 hours Tuesday to Friday only.
If you have not made the trip to Cornwall overnight you coild make your trip in one go making a couple of 2 hour stops and arrive on site early morning

We make the journey using a Tesco in Perth, asda at Carlisle North, then Cribbs Causeway.
We repeat the process on the way North.
It's day light robbery on the motorway.
I would only fill up there if I was desperate.

Im sure there is a valid economic reason why the price is so high, but it was high even before the advent of supermarket fuel.
