Just a few quick questions a I have recently bought myself a small Xplore 304 (great van) but seing as I'm single, find it a little tricky to push and pull the van on site. For this reason I'm looking at getting a motor mover fitted (£675 from Towsure) and have a few questions.

Will getting the motor mover fitted by Towsure void my warrantee from the dealer I bought the van?

Can motor movers be used when moving the van onto the little ramps for levelling the van, or do I still need the car attached to get the van up the ramps?

The motor mover Im looking at from Towsure is the Towsure Move Master, what is the downside to getting this motor mover have as opposed to get one of the more expensive models?

Any comments would be appreciated because as I said up there ^^^ somewhere, I'm kind of new to caravanning and know very little about it.

Can't comment on the Towsure MM but I have a Powrtouch HD Motor Mover and it takes the van up a very steep incline in our drive.I have also used it to go up onto ramp for levelling on some awkward pitches with no problem.

the mover will cope with the ramps i have used mine to go up full size car ramps to look under the van..

there is no downside apart from less fancy mover.. it should still do what it says on the tin..

We have used the towsure move master for the last 4 years with no problems. Moved our van (1450) with no problems , also onto ramps for levelling. With a bit of practice we could use it to hitch up to car with almost mm positioning.

The only downside is it reduces your payload the difference between your MIRO &MTPLM by about 35Kgs.

but with a van of that size you should not have trouble moving it, why not buy a wheel lock leveller cheaper than a mover.

The reason I'm looking at getting a motor mover is that the storage site I'm at is on a very slight incline. Easy when I'm leaving my van there, but taking it away is a bit of a pain, pulling a van weighing just over a tonne at midnight, in the rain by yourself is tricky at best and downright annoying at worst.

Plus one of my favourite sites down in Cornwall isn't perfectly flat, so again it's either use the car and possibly burn the clutch out slowly reversing it into place, or just get a motor mover and save my cars clutch.

I have the same problem when I get home - the drive is on an incline, road not wide enough to reverse in. I bit the bullet and got a motormover! Like many others have said, it's the one big expensive thing that I have never regretted buying, it's a godsend!

yep i think that is about right.. the same people are the ones that say you dont need one.. he he

i bought a used one for £400 quid off ebay and fitted it myself.. i have to have one to get the van in and out of the garden as i soon discovered when i arrived home with it.. life without a mover.. never once you have used one.. :)

i call mine a big radio controlled toy.. they do fascinate people who have never seem one in use.. whatever next they say.. he he

Wouldn't be without our mover, our drive is the last on the street, and it is to narrow to use the car to put caravan on and take off the drive, the end of our drive is on an incline, which is fairly steep and it handles it fine.

Our neighbours love it, when we are moving the van they like to stand and watch the witch craft that is a caravan moving all by itself!!

Yep. Motor Mover.

I took delivery of my 'van (1400Kg) without one, thinking that, as a lighter 'van I'd be able to manhandle it OK.

Really mistaken, nearly hanged myself, especially putting it back in its slot in the storage yard.

PLus, speaking as a bloke, it's a gadget

Yep, taken delivery of the motor mover from Towsure, I ordered the cheapest one they do (think its a "towsure own make" one) but it turned out to be a purpleline E-Go mover (don't know if they are good or not)

Now I just have to wait for the fitting on the 17th, and then ill be off to Whitby for a long weekend of fish and chips, beer and maybe a little play of a really expensive remote controlled van
