You wont get hot water unless your plugged into the mains. You should have a cable that goes from a mains point to your van.Doing this also will charge your battery if you have one and is recommended you do.

The only other way to get hot water is switching over to gas.

The slats will be cut to sit on the edge of your seating and must b`e brought out straight.

There will be a switch that says CAR or VAN set this to VAN

I can only confirm what Jeff Juke said, I've got an Elddis 304 (branded as an Xplore 304) and I would imagine that its systems are similar (if not identical)

So on the panel for the hot water I have a flame symbol, one symbol with a wavy line, a similar symbol with two wavy lines and a zero.

The zero means the hot water is switched off, the wavy lines is running of the electrics (using an electric hook up cable, not the leisure battery) and obviously you can set it too "one bar" or "two bars". The last one is for heating the water with gas.

As for charging the battery, you either have to plug it into your home power supply, or plug it into a camp sites electrics. The battery will also charge when being towed, but I don't know how quickly it charges like this.

as for using the electrics, on the main panel (on my van there is a panel right next to the door with four switches, one called "mains" one called "awning light" one called "pump" and another called "lights"

The one called mains is for your electrics and its for when your on site, you switch it on and all of your electrics that don't run of the leisure will work.

The pump is for your water pump, and the other two are fairly obvious, main lights and awning lights.

your panel may not be identical, but it should have something similar to this.

As for the slats making the bed up, on mine the slats slide out and are tied together using material, they can only go one way, so cant really help you with that one.

My last van had pull out slats from under the centre console which doubled as a table by folding the top table layer open and locking.

The slats were slightly curved upwards and slid in a ally guide either side of wood frame supporting seat pads. the slats where 10cms apart and joined together by rubberised canvas belting 10cms wide by 2mm thick this webbing was stapled to the slats underneath about 15cms in from edges.
When you put weight on slats they straightened out and edges locked up at back of ally guides.

I think the slats were made of Deal 10cms wide and 5mm thick always sprang back to curved shape in morning when all weight removed, made them easy to slide back into storage box under centre console and behind foot locker.

I used fitted handle for pulling out about 4" then pulled out fully with my hands about14" apart holding front frame work.

Tez, what year is it. I have a hurricane from elddis. I got hold of a manual that covers a few of their vans from the early 90's. I can email a copy if it helps. John

Have a look here:

Although it doesn't appear they have your specific model (A manual may be somewhere on the web though) they do have older generic tourer manual . We have a 2009 Elddis and some of the systems look familiar.
