We've just been informed that Tourer World are closing in Brighouse West Yorks. We recently bought a caravan from them and was a given a 12 month warranty feeling slightly worried :( does anyone have any more info as to what is happening
I do, my sister in laws cousin has bought it, he currently owns storth caravan storage in Elland and is moving into servicing and repairs ect, not sure about sales though.
I bought my caravan from Tourer world too, nothing but trouble

I bought mine from them 9mths ago. It was due for repairs to a shower tray. Anyway I had a call this morning and we are taking it down to be repaired which is good. We spoke to Paul who was the owner and it was a sad story of why he has let the business go. He was a nice bloke. At least the new owners do repairs as I was stuck on where to take it because I heard Kenmoor in Mirfield aren't cheap.
Is Storth storage the same owners as Yorkshire Caravan Services. I was told it was them taking over but just for repairs

Thanks for that info zozo3791 so are the new owners taking over the guarantee on the vans we've still got 8 months on ours and wondered where we stand should we encounter any faults.
It's sad that Paul has had to give up the business as he is a really nice genuine man and really looked after us when we purchased our caravan.
I'm not sure about the warranty but I will ask the question at the weekend when I drop my caravan off because I need the return valve sorting on my heater and a window which Paul was aware of. I know Chris from the garage is now working there. You could give them a call because its the same number. It is also staying the same name

Just a quick update on Tourer World I've been informed that they were advised to go into liquidation, how this will affect our warranty I am unsure at the moment.
My sister in law drove past today and said that all the caravans have now gone from site and it looked as if they were loading boxes into a van so it looks like that's it end of an era

Thinking about it now, I do feel for them, I know Paul would never of sold me another caravan if i was the last caravanner on earth , but it does seem a shame for them
My caravan which was from tourer world in Oct 2014 has just had some work done by the new owner. They have kept Chris from the garage. My caravan was just going through an insurance claim at the time tourer world went. He closed the business through health issues. Anyway the new owner is really nice and has looked after us, he will continue with all my repairs and servicing. The company name will remain the same so I have been told.

Hello just catching up on post as I have had my van serviced at tourerworld for last 5 years and currently need some work doing on it, but have to admit I am a little concerned about taking my van there, given administration.
I have read posts regarding health issues which I am sad to hear, however unsure as to why they went down the route of administration.
Apologies if I sound insensitive, but in my experience of administration it sounds an odd route to go down rather than selling on the business.
Has anyone any more information?
I understand that Chris is still there who was always great with my van servicing, so gut feel is to carry on with the new team.
I had my caravan in there about 3 weeks ago for work and have done a good job. I will carry on using them for repairs and servicing. They have kept some staff including Chris who did the repairs
