We are booked on a site this summer and on the web site it says they have new awning pads. Does anyone know what these are? the pitch is hard standing.
Well, as we know, the awning pads are the plastic pieces that sit between your van and awning pole, however in this context I can only assume someone is trying to refer to the section on the pitch intended for the awning, ie., the hard standing.
Maybe the site have re-laid or improved the pitches. Have you asked the site what they mean by this?
What is the site?

Another meaning of pad is area. Perhaps like some sites i have been on the area the awning is pitched on is reinforced plastic the stop the damage which is caused to grass.
If you go to the camp site search this web site then go to the video of Hendra at about the 20 second mark you will see the awning pad. Instead of grass or the dreaded hard core they seem to have laid down an awning carpet or pad.
