i am not an expert on Thetford ovens but have repaired the same fault on a relatives oven. i am a registered gas installer but industrial not domestic.
you will find there is a device called a thermoelectric flame failure device FFD.
this sits behind the control knob but has a thermocouple that runs from the control knob to the burner. its like a thin piece of copper tube.
when you push the knob in it over rides the device (FFD).
once the thermocouple is hot it generates enough magnetism to hold the FFD valve open. if the thermocouple cools down the valve closes. its a safety device to prevent unburned gasses filling the oven in the event the flame blows out. in some cases just the thermocouple can be replaced.
if you look on ebay or google it with the oven make model and FFD or thermocouple you should be able to find a replacement part as they are prone to failure.
whether or not you choose to replace the part yourself is down to you. just remember that LPG is particularly nasty if it leaks, it is heavier than air so can fill cavities for days before it is accidentally ignited.
hope this helps

i have a Thetford midi prima 3 oven in my caravan when i light the oven the burner will not light up fully when i turn up the gas although there is gas coming out of the burner. Any suggestions on what the cause could be please
I repair domestic appliance's, one thing to check is that the thermocouple tip is actually in the flame, it is possible to get it dislodged, or a spillage on the burner which would stop the flame around the tip. Another reason can be due to the knob not allowing the valve tap to go all the way in, pull the knob off push the valve in with your finger and try. Another thing if you have had the stat replaced recently the thermocouple might not have been tightened up properly, vibration loosening it.
Just realized you only had the stat replaced 4 months ago, take it back to the repairer could be loose as I said
