I have recently been having problems with my leisure battery being flattened while in storage. Currently it it pulled a fully charged 110ah battery down to 5.7 volts in 2 weeks.
During some testing I found there was a 3.2 amp draw on the battery with everything switched off via master switch on control panel.
On further testing at the 12v fuses I found it was the alarm that accounted for 3.1amps.
The caravan is a Bailey Wyoming 2008 and has been fine until now. Does anyone know why the alarm would suddenly draw these currents. There is a tracker on this line and was wondering if this could be the issue. Still waiting for reply from tracker.
Any advise would be welcome.

If the TV booster is left switched on accidentally then this will draw power from the leisure battery.
This happened to me a few years ago on a rally (without electric hook up) and because the booster was out of sight inside an overhead cupboard I didn't see the red 'ON' light illuminated which was drawing power from the battery during the night. Just thought it was worth mentioning that's all just in case it is something you have missed.

Hi tango
Yes I have already checked this and it was off. I am suspecting faulty tracker battery trying to recharge itself from battery but don't have a clue where to find it, hoping tracker can advise but not had reply yet..

If the battery for an alarm or tracker are originals from 2008 it is a fair bet that these have failed and drawing the current from your main battery.

the fail safe thing to do is when in doubt disconnect (or remove) the battery at its terminals.. never a bad idea when in long term storage..

just removing the earth terminal will do the job..

alarms and the like have destroyed many a good battery..

Thanks for all the info, this is the line of thought I was going down, with the tracker battery being u/s and pulling my leisure battery down trying to recharge it.

Does anyone know where the tracker battery might be located?, I have read you can buy them for £40, but can't find it in the van, lol.
£100 to call tracker out to replace apparently.

Will buy new battery this week and take advise about leaving it disconnected when in storage site until Tracker can confirm issue with battery. I would have thought they would have contacted us previously if battery was defunct, as they are supposed to get a signal from the unit.

Finally got in touch with tracker and they confirmed it is the tracker battery causing draw down as battery u/s. Still original kit from 2008. Cost to service/change unit £150. It has saved me more than this in insurance over the years as I have a lifetime subscription., so getting repair carried out.
Just had insurance quote from saga, new for old £27000 an amazing £190. All my other quotes were from £369 upwards. Tracker discount included.
