Hi people

I have just bought my first caravan a abi brightstar only cheap one as i want to try before laying out big bucks has anyone out there had one and how did you find it.

Sorry, never had a Brightstar but I'm sure it will be fine as an introduction to caravanning.
We paid £1,250 for our first caravan, a Lunar Meteorite, ten years ago and we loved it. We changed it for a slightly larger one a few months later( got £2000 part ex).

Abi brightstar was our first van we loved it just me and hubby would still of had it now if wasn't for expanding family and putting the bed out every night . loved it I often wonder where ours is now !

If it is our old one as you walk in on the left there is a mirror (stick on one ) over the hole where we removed the alarm keypad.unless one was refitted.

And the fly screen on the kitchen roof light is a different colour than the surround.

I got a 91/92 Daystar 4 or so years ago, and it`s been a great basic van. No control boxes or anything like that; plug in and stay, basically. This was to be a precursor to a decent recent van, but we`re not parting for a good few years yet. Very dry, comfortable and easy to tow. Just back from Llanrwst a few hours ago.

I think the old pre 2000 ABI vans have been well built. I've got a 99 Sprinter and its in good shape with hopefully a few more years of life left in her.
