do not know about A16 services. the one at Thurrock as plenty of space but a long way from services ie shops and toilets. the Cambridge one as about 6/7 caravan bays at the far end of the car park you have to drive through the car park and is a real pain getting out also you may find it full of white van man and the like.

Malc has given the info about Thurrock and Cambridge Services; there's also Birchanger Green at M11 Junction 8 (Stanstead Airport and A120). There are Caravan bays there, just keep going all the way round past the truck park entrance, past the Car Park, and fork right after you've passed the Day's Inn.
After Cambridge the next services are at Junction 17 (Peterborough) on the A1M; there are some caravan spaces there, but the same problem as Cambridge.
Is the new A16 on your map? It no longer even starts anywhere near Stamford! Leave the A1M at the above-mentioned Junction 17 (There are no "A16 Spalding" signs here at all) and follow the signs for Peterborough A1139. Follow this Motorway-standard dual-carriageway all the way round Peterborough to the roundabout at the far end, and then follow the signs for Spalding A16.It now starts just north of Peterborough off the A47, but the signs have all been put in.
There are no "Services" on the A16 at all, right through to Boston. There is a big filling station at Spalding just off the roundabout for the A151 (Access only from the A151 towards Holbeach), and another one at the A16/A17 roundabout nearer Boston (Access only from the A17 towards Kings Lynn). Both have a Macdonalds or similar, but neither has dedicated caravan parking bays.
Thurrock is ok but not at The weekend. Today we tried to stop and just squeezed in to the caravan area among the parked lorries. Many heading for France park up there over the weekend and head for the ferry Sunday night / Monday morning. Most Artics are not allowed to roll on the Autoroutes in France on the Weekend, particularly holiday weekends, so all the Aires were chocca blok with lorry drivers so is easier for them to wait this side of the channel.
