Am I missing something here? I thought the Elsan Blue, Thetford Blue or others broke down the 'sludge' in the toilet.

If these "bio pods" are what I think they are, I would never use them.
Bio Pods
Those Bio Pods are made for cleaning clothes, not for disinfecting toilets.
I wouldn't have thought they wouldhave much disinfecting properties to them, after all you can now buy washing liquid that disinfects from Dettol, wouldn't have thought they would make a product if every other washing liquid already does the same job.

As said by someone else I've also read the long thread on another forum of the use of the bio pods and the supposed good results. They may well break the solids down but do they kill off the very specific germs and bugs that come from toilet waste?
I'm going to stick with the stuff specifically designed for caravan toilets.

If switching to bio please make sure that any trace of the formaldyhide stuff is removed from the tank otherwise this will inhibit the action of the bio fluids. Do this by rinsing the tank thoroughly wth a bleach solution then rinsing. The bio will then work wonders.

PS. Also use a nice smelling fabric softener liquid in the flush water. This really improves matters and does not affect the bio action.
