Anyone know how well a zone 1 sky dish will work in Northern Ireland? I have been using a zone2 dish as all advice pointed to this, but on most sites I see people with smaller zone1 dishes, the owners say they work fine, I would rather have the smaller dish it I thought it would work!
Since the UK Spot Beam signal increased power early in 2014, and even though it's coverage shrunk, the signal over all UK and Northern France has is better than it has ever been.
So in effect a Zone 1 Sky Mini-Dish will work fine anywhere in the UK.
However I would not choose to use a Sky Mini-Dish, for UK use I would go for the Arcon Sweety, or the SelfSat antenna.
Not only are they smaller than the Sky dish, but are also better suited to mobile use.

The thing from the Aldi kit would work fine anywhere in the UK and its less than half a metre in diameter.
If you bought a second hand Aldi or similar kit of fleabay you'd find the dish comes with a rubber sucker on its base which will stick to any flat metal surface no probs.
If it will receive signals from the satellites co located at 28.2 degrees east of south then it will work for SKY or Freesat.
