Advise needed on buying an auto engage motor mover for a single axle caravan, there are so many not sure which one to choose. The Easi-move auto engage is a good price anyone had one fitted, I would appreciate any comments please!
Previous post here and here might be worth a read.

Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
We have had two Rowrtouch movers (both manual engagement) and were quite happy with them. However, when we bought our 2012 van, we had the AL-KO Mamut fitted. It is auto-engage. The advantages are that (a) it mounts as two separate units directly onto the AK-KO chassis, which makes it lighter. (b) there is no X-member situated below the chassis, and neither do the units protrude below the chassis level.
This means no reduction of ground clearance under the van, and the units are not vulnerable to being clouted on a high kerb.
Have seen this happen twice on underslung movers, and the unit pushed hard onto the van wheel, necessitating immediate work to release it so that towing can continue.

We have an older model Powrtouch and although it is out of the 5 year warranty, the after sales care is absolutely fantastic - the best I have received from any company whatsoever.
Hi
I had a auto engage Powrtouch Evolution fitted to my van in April, absolutely brilliant, that's all I can say.If you read up on the reviews they're second to none, even to the extent they'll come to the site your on to repair. My advice would be go to the caravan/camping show and haggle.I got ours auto-engage fitted for £1000.
Would definitely recommend.

I don't have a mover fitted but have often thought about it and looked into getting one. If I was to purchase a mover based on what I have read about them I would probably go for the piwertouch evolution if I could justify spending nearly a grand on one. Which I can't.
I purchased a Powrtouch HD manual engage motor mover about 1 1/2 yrs ago. I did think about the auto engage but as someone has said, less moving parts = less to go wrong.
It takes about 5 seconds to manually engage and the same time to disengage, and all done from one side of the caravan.
I couldn't justify about £350 - £400 extra for the auto engage considering I can manually engage quicker than the auto engage.
I also got a deal with fitting which covers 5 years parts and labour, as its parts only if I had fitted it myself.
I am not criticising anyone with auto engage, I just bought what suited my needs and budget.

Personally I do not have the auto engage on the mover, as VM says the cost and less moving parts. But whilst on holiday in France this year, every single van that came on site, Dutch, German, Belgian, Danish all had movers and every one had auto engage.
Maybe it's cheaper in the rest of Europe.
