My husband is the tower in our family and he was super nervous when he started but it gets easier and now he is quite a nifty reverser. As I don't drive I can't offer anything technical other than take it steady and ignore the caravan haters that glare at you when you stick to the speed limit lol. Good luck!
First, get some good towing mirrors - I recommend Milenci Grand Aero. Not cheap, but you have a grandstand view of what's behind you.
Second, practice towing around a bit. I hadn't towed for years and had forgotton how the dynamics of the car change as the caravan acts on the suspension. First 20 miles on the A1 were terrifying, the second 20 miles just scary, then everything fell into place.
There are loads of Youtube videos on connecting the caravan and towing, have a good watch. When you see how caravans are pulled about on test courses you realise it's not going to come off on ordinary roads at legal speeds.
Then enjoy. Tootling along at 60mph on dual carriageways actually gets quite relaxing.
