The plastic around my shower waste has split almost all the way round leaving a 55mm diameter hole.
Apparently, it is quite a common problem so I am hoping someone else has managed to rectify this problem without the need to remove the shower tray.
I am hoping that I can install a domestic-style waste with a larger 70mm flange to cover the now (bigger) 55mm hole in the shower tray and somehow connect it to the caravan pipework. Has anyone successfully done this?
I do not think it is possible to glue it or plastic-weld it as it is too far gone.
Any other suggestions gratefully received as I very much rely on my caravan shower and use it all the time.
you cant really bodge it or try to seal another tray over the the top, that is asking for dampproblems.Im afraid the real solution is to replace the original.Which will be more successful and cheaper in the long run.

I think a possible cause may be that the hole in the floor for allowing fitting of the waste is too large, so that if any one using the shower happens to be standing with one foot over the waste and puts weight on that foot, then the lack of support from underneath could allow the shower tray to crack.
If fitting a new shower tray, ensure that it is well supported right up as close to the waste as possible.

Hi, Mine split last year, and I was put in touch with SPEEDCOAT who do a full repair, now it's as good as new and stronger. It's done in situ.
This saves buying & fitting a new tray, which we couldn't find anyway. Just google Speedcoat for a local installer.
I purchased a domestic waste (with an extra wide flange) and associated plumbing bits to screw on the bottom to allow for a reduction to a 19mm waste hose. Siliconed it in and it works perfectly!
