Hi, as the title says does anyone know of a caravan with a fixed bed and 2 front seats that can be made into a double bed that is lightweight? Not bothered about size of toilet area etc.
Not sure if the layout is as you describe, but the Fixed Bed Burstner Premio 450 is on my radar 1200kg MTLP, at around £10k new, another contender was the Adria Altea Tay 432PX now known as the Adria SprtLine PX.
For now though my sights are firmly set on the Burstner.
Another recommendation here for the Adria, but this time the Altea Trent, or the Sportline UP. The Sportline is a dealer special, based on the 2014 Altea, which has a lighter weight than the 2015. I had a look around a 2015 Trent yesterday, and have to say our Sportline UP has more cupboard and storage space. Look at http://www.adria-caravans.com/sportline.php. Although with your location in Scotland, that might be a bit far to Daventry!

What do you mean by light? We've got a 2013 Lunar Quasar 544 which is the configuration you want.
The MIRO is 1219kg and the MTPLM is 1376kg. I'm towing with a car that has a kerbweight of 1682kg so we are nicely under 85%
Lovely little van, although I have to admit the only sleepover so far has been on the drive at home!
Thanks. Ive googled all the recommendations but I do like the look of this one.
I think that manufacturers are (at last) beginning to realise that there are now huge numbers of potential caravan buyers who have post 1997 driving licences. That pretty much includes anyone born after 1980 unless they have taken a separate towing test. I certainly noticed at last year's Motorhome and Caravan show at the NEC that plenty of people there were inquiring about lightweight caravans. I think that this lighter and lighter caravan trend will continue well into the future.

Obviously I'm biased but one of the BIG deciders for me was the mattress. Lunar have chosen to put in a thick pocket sprung mattress that is about 7" thick (yes, I could do down to the drive and measure it exactly . . .) I have trouble sleeping thanks to arthritic shoulders and this mattress is just as comfortable as our bed at home. What's the point of going away and being uncomfortable and knackered 'cos you've not slept properly?
By comparison I laid on a Bailey mattress at the same dealer and it was half the thickness, lumpy and I would immediately have had to spend ££££ on a good mattress topper or a complete change.
I stayed in the van last night (gently getting our little rescue dog used to it all) and I had one of the best night's sleep I can remember.
Hi Feeblecat just seen your post I too was looking for a light weight fixed bed for 4 but also wanted a bit of luxury and bit extra having looked around and few hundred miles later came across a bailey ranger GT60 420/4 MIRO 1121 MTLPM 1326 also it came with as standard shocks.alloys, spare wheel carrier and spare alco stabiliser all included in the MIRO and a few other they were only built 1n 2010 and tow fantastic but lightweight hope this helps
