I have bought a Bailey senetor California series 6 2009.
Upgrading on my old 2 berth Bailey Magenta pagent 2000. I see reading in here some are unhappy with the damp problems with Bailey. I must amit my Magenta was full of it but then it was old. Can anyone tell me are Bailey caravans so bad? Also what is the best british make of caravan out there? We all know german quality is better than anything british but you need alot of money, fine if you can aford it.
Pulls up a chair, puts kettle on and places an online order with a large supermarket for the biccies to be delivered.
Right I'm ready, off you all go.
------------- XVI yes?
As well is two words!

Doesn't work that way.
You can get good and bad from any make.
It all depends who was on quality control that day.
That's why I will never buy a new one. Let someone else get the "teething problems" sorted out.
Our Bailey Senator Wyoming series 6 2008 is fantastic, layout is spot on for our needs, love it, love it. Our friend had owned it from new so we knew the full history. I haven't seen any other twin axle I'd swap it for and I looked at loads layout wise. You'll hear good and bad from all makes of caravans.
We have also been putting some thought into looking for a replacement van.I think we will be looking at non UK "Adria" for a a replacement to our Bailey !As you don't hear of so many problems with this make .Worrying dilemma, when hearing about leaking uk vans. Would have gone for the 550/4 pursuit as the beds are suitable for a 6 footer. But hearing Freeatlasts problems have put me right off !.....Only my opinion.
I have a series 5 bailey ranger it's crap. 3 months after I bought it last year the dried out ( by dodgy dealers dehumidifier) damp had returned around rear end and down both sides. Dealer replaced soggy wall board and 're sealed' awning rails and connection between rear moulding and roof. Looked to me like he smeared sealant over the old joints. Fast forward 8 months and I am holidaying in a damp caravan. You may say it's the dealers fault or it should be expected on a 7 year old van but the design of the connection between the roof and the sides and the front and rear, is from an engineers perspective is quite honestly pathetic. You would think with the experience bailey have they could have designed better. Like other manufacturers have done. Meanwhile I have had to take a trip to jewsons and but some sealant and get up on the roof today to prevent my sons bedding getting wet.
My neighbours have a brand new bailey Olympus and they have had to return it for water Ingres repairs.
We had a Senator California and absolutely loved it, really comfortable van loved the fixed bed and the wall mount option for the TV was a fantastic idea. We have since changed it for a Valencia series 1 and again no trouble same layout as California.
Serviced every year no damp at all, keeping fingers crossed that’s why we haven’t upgraded yet to either series 2 or 3.
Do Adria produce and sell as many vans as Bailey?
Could that be why they don’t have as many issues? Good and bad with everything as previously stated.
Just my opinion always an interesting topic and great for getting people debating or moaning!!!

Whereas our Series 5 Ranger is as dry as a bone.
As I said, it depends who was working the day yours was made and whether or not they gave a stuff.

Why is it when someone posts about an issue with ANY caravan,it is seen as a moan by some people. Its good that you seem to have no issues but spare a thought for those who have possibly spent there life savings on a lemon!
------------- It is a wise man who has something to say.
It is a fool who has to say something.
Why should it seem like Russian roulette when buying a van ? Shame it's very hit & miss !I imagine it is a very small percentage from the large amount of Baileys sold. But once bitten......
