Hi Tilly ,we have the 2013 Avante 540.Fingers crossed we haven't had damp yet ( so sorry to hear of yours ) but we have had a nightmare with the van over the last couple of years, and sadly still have issues ongoing.
Seems like we were the Guinea pigs regarding the build in that year. Hope you get it resolved without to much hassle. Scoobz

So is there a problem with the glue them? You mean its coming unstuck? Composite panels are closed cell extruded in one piece, they cannot actually soak up water.
I think the likely hood of Elddis new vans leaking has been reduced due to their new construction process (think its called SOLID) but I doubt its been reduced totally.
The idea behind SOLID is that because the panels are now glued, you don't need screws, no screws means no screw holes, which is where the leaks come from. Even the awning rail is glued on to the side of the van.
You need to get a full explaination from dealer. If walls are composite then it can't be water ingress in structure, so presumably some of the glued joints have failed and water is coming in through joins in roof/sides or around window seals?
In the 70s, Ford workers hated their jobs so much it was claimed they put milk bottles into box sections to cause untracable rattles in the finished product. The car industry has eliminated some of the human element with robots and working with their workers to get them to take a pride in their finished product. This why todays cars are not the rubbish they were in the 70s.
Looking at caravan factory videos, the work appears semi skilled boring and repetitive, could it be that some workers hate their jobs so much that they deliberately sabotage the product?
our Elddis Rambler 20/4 ( Dealer special on the Avante ) has30% damp due to a cracked rear panel -due to thin materials , more than likely damp around the mini Hekis as well - this was found after the 2nd service in mid May - as yet we are waiting on Elddis to agree replacement with Wandahome . I THINK THERE SHOULD BE A CONCERTED ON LINE CAMPAIGN ON HERE TO LET ELDDIS KNOW HOW WE FEEL
We had a new 2013 Elddis Avante 540, had nothing but problems with it from when we purchased it to finally part exchanging it for a Swift last year. The van was constantly being taken back to the dealers with various issues, every time we we went away another fault surfaced or an item failed on the van.
