Popped up to our storage site to find some scum bag had stolen our jockey wheel. I know our site is not gold star or anything, but come on how low is that?!!! It is lucky we hadn't gone up to get the'van to go away. Has made us very distrustful of everyone in the site now. The only kind of good thing about it is that DH was planning to replace it as was getting loose and wheel was distorted. It would certainly be karma if it fell down whilst the robbing gits were towing, would serve them right.
The place where we store our caravan is a 'gold star' secure site but it didn't stop anyone stealing a pair of plastic wheel trims from the wheels about 5 years ago so since then I have to remove them on return. After all, they are less than 15 quid for a new set which is cheaper than a jockey wheel but nevertheless I fully appreciate your annoyance regarding these theiving scumbags who interfere and steal other peoples property. Yours is not an isolated incident and probably many thefts go unreported.

Had it happen some years back on a Gold site also, not quite sure what classes as a gold site but having a public footpath running alongside the storage/field behind with large gaps in the hedge didnt seem that secure to me.
They took my battery and the wheelbrace from a van a few rows down, it seemed liked they took something different from each van, cherry picking the best items to create their own ideal setup?
I had the 2 front sidelight lenses removed from gold inside storage.
what is sad is that you know they where taken by a fellow caravanner in the same storage

As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
Gosh I thought it was probably due in part to it being a cheaper storage site, but it would appear not!
The paints a good idea Jeff, would certainly put people off thinking about stealing it if it was easily identifiable. That is if they didn't then think about using paint striper too though as blueepoxo97 pointed out!
We arrived at the storage yard Friday just gone to find our caravan had a flat tire... Not a problem, except we then discover someone had broken into the gas locker and stolen the spare. Our bank holiday weekend didn't quite go as planned.
Since there's a high fence all around the yard, we thing the spare has been stolen by someone else with a caravan there too.
That is the worst part Mikeybe, that a fellow caravanner with a caravan in your storage site did it. We don't feel our van is safe anymore, and we can't trust anyone else there now. Which is a shame as 99.99% of people there are going to be fine. As usual the minority spoil it for the majority. We are considering other storage options. None of which are storage sites.
