Would need to be idle for a bit for that to happen and its generally the remote that will go to sleep first and just power it back up in seconds. Thats how it is with my Powrtouch HD anyway..
Hi Vango
I have the same mover and agree with you on the hand set, but if laid up at side of house and if the isolator is in a side locker opps. It happend to a mate of mine with his twin axle, lucky we could take a fence out and gain access lol He now as a switch in the front locker

Ah! right..see what you mean Ray. In my case its only about 35ft that is an issue with gable and wall, after that its open garden and I have a good 6ft all around the hardstanding that the van sits on and then its all garden..if that makes sense.

i am surprised an A7 can only tow 1600kg they are huge!
the Adrias are wider than most British vans some of the Avondales are only 2.13m. you could fit that on the drive but you are not going to be able to get past it if you need to.
the european vans are wider because the rules used to be different to ours but we are now harmonized with them.
hence the restriction on 3500kg gross train weight on licenses issued after 1997.
think about that when lookign at caravans, was your license issued after 1997?
whats the max gross weight of your car?
whats the MPLM of your desired caravan?
do the 2 sum of the figures exceed 3500kg?
if your license was issued before 1997 you can tow with a GTW (car and caravan added) up to 7500kg.
i keep my caravan in storage even though i have room on my drive. there are restrictive covenants on my estate preventing caravans, boats, and vans being parked out side the houses but many of my neighbors have vans and a few caravans. the caravan i have though is quite an eyesore as my drive is all in front of my house, my opposite neighbors have a similar sized caravan but they keep it between the houses. my storage costs £500/year which is extortionate but its literally round the corner. i was talking to a guy who pays £180/year so storage may not be so expensive for you.
Hi bailey jake, sorry it's a4 b7. Forgot to put the a4 bit, as mine is the Sline it sits 25mm lower than a standard model.
If I knew I was going to get into caravans etc I would have bought the standard model, I literally bought the car then noticed it had a tow bar as I had never pulled anything ( apart from the wife) i talked the other half into camping. Hence owning a folding camper and now want a caravan.
Storage down my way is £360 and still gets broken into :(
------------- Up there for thinking, down there for dancing. 😎
We have a standard A4 and that can (according to the rule) just about pull the adria...in real life, it pulls it beautifully, but that was the main reason we went for the adria...we're stuck with the car as it's a company one...we certainly wouldn't want to pull something over 1300kg. We also keep ours in storage, it's just too long for our drive. I prefer it anyway as I think when it's on the drive all the time, it advertises the fact you are away when it's not there.
Veema, they increased the MTPLM on all the 2015 Alteas, but still base the Sportline on the 2014, which on the Trent / 532UP was much better, more overhead storeage etc. and didn't like new kitchen layout so much.

We have Audi A4 saloon 2lt tdi 150bhp and it pulls our Bailey Pursuit no problems.
Look at the vin plate in you engine bay and take the top line gross v weight from the next one down which is gross train weight. This will give you what you can tow.
Our Bailey 540-5 with bunks is mass running weight 1229kg ( basically what it should weigh coming out the factory with a gas bottle, battery and 90% filled water tank is the guide. The the mtplm weight is the max it can be with all the kit in it which is 1394kg.
If you car plate difference is more than the last figure (1394kg) you are good to go but the bigger the difference the better.
Next we have 3 inches either side of our gates to get the pursuit down our car port and I was nervous but with the motor movers went in first time no issues just took my time checking each side. The pursuit is 2.23m wide and I have 2.4m opening. BUT HOW EVER, once through the gate I get an other 150mm clearance which just allows me to open the door on van an squeeze in and put an axel lock on and get in to the battery compartment.
Get a Venus 500/4. Great van, seperate single beds for the kids, light weight and only 2.09m including the marker lights.
A nice move up from the Pathfinder
