We have decided to get on some waiting lists for a seasonal pitch somewhere near the coast in Dorset/East Devon. We would like a pool on site as it's such a handy entertainment for our children.
The waiting lists are all so long though - it feels like it will never happen.
Just wondered how long others have waited to get a seasonal pitch? Also did you have to compromise on your requirements in order to get somewhere? Has that worked out ok or do you wish you waited to get exactly what you wanted??
Popular tourist area with a pool = a long wait (I would imagine)
My friend is wanting to get on a particular site in Devon and has been waiting almost 6 years as people just don't seem to want to leave!
I think a compromise (ie no pool) may be needed to get on a site sooner.
Once on the waiting list I would advise you to contact them every so often to let them know you're still interested. Sometimes you fall off the radar if you dont, whilst others keep theirselves known therefore get sited quicker - unfair but it happens.
Hi alpiner, yes, have thought about going further west but also want to keep the distance reasonable to allow for spontaneous weekends as well as longer trips.
Kevin, thank you. I will look up your site.
Feeblecat, I did suspect a bit of that might go on. It's agood idea to say a friendly "hello, we're still interested" now and again. I will do that.
