I have a good cordless screwdriver but my old drill has to be pugged in during use. Does anyone use a cordless screwdriver with a caravan leg attachment to drop the corner steadies or is it not powerful enough?
I have used a cordless for years. a 12 volt is ok but don't forget - cheap drivers do not have the power of the more expensive ones. Mine is a Black and Decker which I would say is the best cheap drill/driver.
Maplin are selling an 18 volt drill/driver with a Lithium-iron battery for about £40. I bought one - it's ok.

I bought a cheap drill.
It works fine but the battery always looses charge.
Every time I pick the van up from storage its flat.
I've given up and gone back to doing it by hand.
I think we will continue doing it by hand as our driver isn't 18v. When we are no longer up to the job I will invest in a decent cordless drill or perhaps mechanised leg steadies will be invented and I can invest in a new van ☺️ Thanks all for responding

Hi if you get one with a lithium battery this doesn't happen.
a pic of my home made one here.. powered by an RC type lithium pack.. the drill cost about a tenner new without its normal battery.. the 3 cell 1.3 amp 12 volt battery i used was about eight quid from hobbyking..
small neat and never loses it charge whilst stored..

Our local Aldi had some 18v lithium drills today. I think they were only about £10. Amazon sell the attachment for £7.
At that price I will pop along to our local Aldi tomorrow and get one. I have seen a Maypole 12 inch attachment on Amazon so that should do the job. Anything that makes setting up and packing up a bit easier is worth it. Thanks everyone
