Hi,
Hoping someone may be able to give me some info on a problem I have with my heater.
I have a 2001 avondale land ranger, the heater is a truma ultraheat 230v, the problem is that the fan is not working in it, the heater is fine and is working on all 3 power settings, just can't get the fan to work.....anyone else had the same problem??
many thanks for any or all help.
Have you taken the front off and pressed the connection back onto the switch? This s a common fault on mine.

For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013

Hi, yes, took the front off earlier, disconnected the plug from the pcb board/switch, all seemed good there, have you any idea what im looking for if I put a circuit tester across the plug, which wires etc??
thanks
I seem to remember that the actual blower fan is a separate unit to the rest of the fire anthough part of the combination, it runs off a 12 volt supply so a bit easier to work with.

Yes Dave it is, it works independent of the heater on a 12v supply but I think the control pcb for the fan is also inside the housing that the heater pcb sits in? it could be the pcb board underneath the switch that is fried but I have no idea which wires to jump on the connector to get the fan to run?
Yes, don't you just love technology, , fine when it works but such a pain when it doesn't.
The first thing I would be looking for as a clue would be the wiring colours, hopefully they have red for +12v and black for negative return? It may just be a variable resistor. There is always Gary at www.arcsystems.biz if you get stuck.

I have put a tester on the two wires that go into the back and all is good with 12.6v, should I take the motor module out now or is there a way of bridging in situ to test the motor?
I decided that even tho its a bugger to get to, that I would remove the fan unit and after half an hour of fiddling about I managed to get the motor out, connected it up to a car battery and there is nothing there at all, if you pull on the shaft/spindle then it does spin but very reluctantly.......a new motor it is then!!
cheers Dave .
ordered one from ebay.....£50...wow !
Had a good look around the web but couldnt find anything remotely the same so I paid the good man on ebay.
Good man, you did your best n sometimes there ain't a cheaper way of doing it. There is the second-hand route but it's difficut, you may end up with another that fails in a short while and after all the hassle you've had getting it out, you don't want to do it again.
Pictures eh? I must admit I struggle a bit on that one. There is a 'Sticky' walk-through done by Papa Pip that I had some success with, you need to get a picture 'Hosting site' like Photobucket to send and host your images, have a look, it's worth a go.

Hi all! ☺
I have a Truma ultraheater 230v. Its been working fine, but now, on the same settings as usual, the heat doesnt come through the outlets as it normally does. Does anyone have any advice, so i can have a look and maybe replace something if needed. TIA
Hi Caravan King and welcome to the forum. You may get better results to your inquiry if you started your own new tread, in the meantime -
1) does it work on gas?
2) is the little green LED lit on the controller panel?
3) is there an in-line fuse that has blown?
4) is there any heat on any wattage setting without the fan running?
