we have a on board water pump.
The connection is a brass screw on type which attachs to a pipe into the barrel.
We are on a service pitch october half term and i wonder if i could just connect to the mains supply via a hose. I am aware i would have to turn down the pressure on the supply point but has anyone done anything similar before?
------------- Courage is not the absence of fear, but the ability to carry on in spite of it.
It's all about control of the water flow which connecting direct to the water supply you don't have so if you connected direct you would quite expect to blow the joints apart with quite a massive flood in the caravan as there is no emergency shut off valve. That's why you need to insert a ball cock valve in the Aquaroll which operates on the same principal as the domestic toilet cistern at home. It's designed to shut the water off when the tank is full which is recommended to do exactly the same with an onboard water tank.
The water pressure will very from site to site. If you want to feel it put your hand over a running tap and see if you can stop the flow. If you can it's probably from a tanked system, if not it will be mains.
