Picking up our 1st caravan on Saturday, my car isnt meaty enough to we will be towing using my husband's Citroen dispatch van , there's no signage on it, recently been told that we may struggle with campsites as they don't like vans on site , has anyone else come across this or aware it is a problem, not ready to upgrade my car yet, and happy to park the van in the car park after off loading if need be,
The camp sites I have been to say no sign written vehicles. I have also been to plenty with vans and sign written trucks though, I wouldn't worry too much.
We tow with my VW Transporter, never had an issue yet and been to commercial family sites such as Hendre in Newquay, and now just myself and swmbo on CL sites too.
It is sign written too though only the company name on the two doors and rear tailgate.
I always give it a good wash and Polish before we go away so it looks it's best
Vans make a great tow vehicle, even more so in our case as private fuel is part of our employment contract 😊
If any site turns you away then you don't really want to stay there Over the years I have only encountered one site that said they were full when clearly there were lots of places I used to tow with a transit van my.name and plumbing business written on the sides. As time progressed I now have a nice new 4x4 and a lovely new caravan I want to return to that site have a look around and tell them their site is not up to my standard. Use your van it is. A better tow truck than most cars and the majority of sites and caravaners are lovely people
We have always towed with our van. First our Citreon Dispatch and now with our new ford custom. We have not had any problems but we always ask. The caravan club sites have no problem with it at all. I always explain our van is our car and kept in great condition. You should be fine.

Hi all, thanks for the advice, picked up our caravan today and we're thrilled, husband towed it very well for a first timer, I will definitely inform them when booking sites, and like you say if it's a no then i'll spend my money else where, looking forward to a road trip around Wales next year😁
