We're considering the possibility of having a few years off from caravanning and so are looking at selling. So we were wondering what the best time to try and sell would be? I thought it might be better to wait until spring next year but our van is in storage which costs money, but I'm wondering if we might actually get a better price in the spring so making it worth while holding on to it over winter?
I guess it all depends on the age of the van, cost of storage insurance, when next service is due etc etc. You may well get a better price in the spring, personally if you've made the decision then I would try and sell it now and avoid the costs and liability.
Sell now, if it sells you are saving on storage and all other costs that may be incurred, you never know what may happen in the winter. Lots of people now use their caravans all year round, if you advertise it now there is a real possibility it will sell and if it doesn't sell then you can try again in the spring.
Advertise it now and see if you get what your looking for, if not then wait until next year.
I would think next year will yield a better price, I bought mine at the end of august and got a very good deal. Had the van several years and offered £500 less than I paid as a trade in.
