Bought a caravan October 2014, we've used it a few times this year, it's been to South of France. We'll be using it for the last time this year in November. Please can someone tell me when the best time would be to have a caravan serviced?? I was thinking about early March.
It will be stood outside without the handbrake on all winter

Depends whether it's still under manufacturer's warranty, if it is then usually six weeks either side of it's anniversary. If not whenever best suits you - i.e. March as you suggest but book it early as engineers get busy around then.

Hi! Some caravan dealers have 'Servicing Offers' on over the winter months as their workshops tend to be light on work, so keep and eye on them for that.
If 'nowt' comes up then I would go for what you are thinking and make it early March, then you are ready for the new season.
Facing 4 months of being in one place and position I think your handbrake off is excellent but would suggest if possible to keep the tyres on a concrete base or flagstones to help keep the rubber of the tyres in good condition.
Better still if you can lift the wheels off the floor by putting an axle on an axle stand each side so there is no weight on the tyres and the possibility of a 'flat spot' on the tread is eliminated.
Good luck with the Service Hunting!

If you want to get it done in March, then book early, they will be busy then. No reason not to get it serviced in Nov/Dec though while things are more quiet. If you can jack it up once a month over winter & spin the wheels to reposition tyres then so much the better.

Don't leave the handbrake on, it may very well seize up over the winter. Use chocks and the steadies to keep the van sited and not moving if possible.

I already have bookings for January, February and March. So i would advise to book early as easter is early next year.

What about a travelling service fella? Could use one myself. After 4 years, she deserves it. . . .

Just had our van through it's first service, an offer from the dealer/service centre meant a cost of only £99.00.

I also get a mobile chap to service my caravan. On alternate years, I have a chassis check on the running gear, then the next year a gas and electric check, which is simply that and nothing else. You will pay more for a 'habitation check' which includes seeing if all the doors open properly, checking for damp, etc. As my caravan is old and doesn't get that many outings a year, I feel this is enough for me. Costs around £60 a time.
