A word of caution, I use Optimate chargers to trickle charge the batteries on our motorbikes......you can leave the battety connected on both terminals whilst charging without damaging the alternator......last year I purchased the Optimate lookalike from lidl or was it aldi?......on reading the instructions it was clear the battery must be disconnected prior to charging........get this wrong and alternators are very expensive.

Would this be suitable for a leisure battery. Our van will be in storage now until next Spring and the battery will need charging to operate the motor mover.

I will be removing my 120Ah leisure battery anytime now and will leave it on my Aldi charger in my garage 24/7 until spring.
Then keep alert to power cuts because these units have previously not "auto-reset" after power cuts, so are not ideal for long term unattended applications.
Still good for such a budget price.

Yes, used one (ok two, one gave up the ghost) for a few years now, perfect for the job.

Keep alert for power cuts? If power goes off in my garage it also goes off in my house,I am also in my garage every day I' m sure I would notice
You might but we frequently go out, sometimes only for an hour or so, sometimes for a few months. So being made aware of that feature can be important to some who also leave their house. They can be used other than in a garage.
