I use one and think it is brilliant. The quantity of water that came out of the system was quite a surprise.

As 'Clever' says, it is not just about emptying the pipes to protect against freezing but removing stagnant water. Yes I know you can flush pipes, and I know you can use chemicals, but I prefer this method.

Whenever this subject comes up there is always a mention of the cost of the dedicated unit. Set against the cost of our caravans, or many of the other 'essential' bits we have, it doesn't feel like a vast expense.

No problem.

It's just a piece of flexible plastic water pipe about 18" long. I then bought a tyre valve, (obtained from a tyre centre), cut the bulbous end down so that I can insert it into one end of said pipe, a jubilee type clip around them makes it air-tight.

On my van the water inlet is a Whale type so it has a little pipe fitting sticking out, push the pipe onto it, yours may be different..

Ready to go, operate as per the real Mc Coy.
