Arrived at the fully serviced pitch in our new Cartagena and connected the blue and grey water pipes in the correct way. Washed up plates etc after dinner and emptied a full bowl of dirty water into the sink......after a lot of gurgling noises we found the water had surfaced in the shower......where we had stored a bag of clean clothes......not sure if the water had backed up the second waste pipe or that the kitchen sink and shower are on the same line......anyone else had this issue?
I had this a few weeks back, it was all due to the waste pipes being bent and not allowing the waste to flow out, soon solved, but I took off the pipes and gave them a good flush out, check there is enough fall on your pipes to allow the water out.
Yes the van was level, as JonMel mentioned, it may be because the pipe was not straight as I had woven it through a fence post and back again. In future I will shorten the pipe and may even use two pipes to keep the bathroom, shower and sink seperated. Thanks for your posts guys.

If you have joined the outlet pipes together and the pipe then rises up above the outlet level, then the water will flow back to the shower. Gravity, I'm afraid and no getting round it.
Ensure that the pipe outside is always lower than the outlet sockets on the van for its whole length.
Does the waste pipe rise up then down. If so you may get an air lock in it at the highest point.
If the waste pipe is above the level of the shower waste, or close to its level, then the pressure of water in the waste will cause water to rise and flow out of the shower.
Yes this happened to me last year. I had bought 7.5m of waste pipe (to match 7.5m blue hose), but there was a very slight incline to the drain and some snakes in the length. While the hose would drain eventually it was very slow, and rinsing a few pots at the sink would raise the pressure to the point the water backed up to the shower.
We were confused for a bit until we worked it out, but I have now cut the pipe into 5m & 2.5m lengths, with a join in case I require the full length again.
------------- Camping Gear expands so as to fill the space available for its transportation.
I like to used fully serviced pitches wherever possible.
I now use 2 waste hoses to the drain because tee-ing the waste pipes together always resulted in washing up water in the shower tray.
freeatlast I totally agree with your post I'm a civil enginner it is not rocket science that you need your out let to be higher than your source of drainage
