Hi I'm a new member from Australia and would love to get some feed back and share our experiences.
Hi has any one out there successfully replaced the cords, threads in these windows if so how did you go about it.
Thanks in advance for your replies.

Do you mean they are pull down blinds, can you provide a better description with pictures if possible? Although you have a UK built Bailey it's possible your blinds are specific to Australian market.

Hi Guys
It's Horrex Duoplissee blind and the string for the flyscreen section at the top has broken. I can buy a new unit from Bailey Aust but would like to try and fix it myself and save $250.00 if possible.
These caravans are made in the UK and imported but have tougher suspension.
Thanks for your interest and help.
Cheers

I wonder if this pdf would help you. It shows how the blind is assembled and how to shorten the cord etc so you may be able to use the info to repair your one:Horrex Blind
If the link doesn't work for you let me know and I'll get it to you some other wa
Wow, for a saving of $250 I would certainly want to try loads of ideas first.
Great PDF Alan, it looks pretty comprehensive.
On the broken cord, if you have trouble sourcing it, it looks a lot like 'drive cord' that used to be used in vintage radios to move the indicator to different frequencies on the display.

I just searched for Horrex blinds and that was one of the sites I came across. I'm sure the principle is the same so that should give to a place to start. I always recommend this site to NZers who buy British built caravans, it's s mine of information with loads of helpful people who go out of their way to help.
Hi guys could not find the same size or colour but found 30 mtr roll of 2 mm white Venetian blind cord at Bunnings our big hardware chain and replaced the broken cord a lot easier than I thought it was going to be, few.
Took me awhile to work out how it worked. The bottom one could be a bit harder.
Total cost $4.20 and about 2 hrs, next one will be a lot faster now that I know what is needed. As apposed to $250.00.
Again thanks guys for your help.
Cheers

I've been reading this as I've had a problem of a broken cord on one of the screens in my Bailey Genoa. Cost of replacement screen from Bailey:£85. Cost of 3 metres of cord from my local haberdashers: 30p. A couple of hours of careful fiddling and £84.70 saved!
Gday Matt glad to hear you fixed your window, this forum is great for info like that I thought it was going to be a lot more difficult. We have good forum in OZ called Caravaners Forum but there isn't much info or help for those of us who have the European type of caravan. Our vans are built a fair bit differently to yours and mine and are generally a lot heavier. A similar size van to mine 26ft could weigh 3 tonne or more.
