Following my previous post / question. I got our Bailey Ranger caravan out of storage and towed home, fitted the recharged battery and successfully used the motor mover :-). At home I fitted quick release (no spanner required battery terminals) very impressed :-), On connecting the 240v hook up and checking voltage I found that switching off the master switch on the caravan control panel there is still 13.75 volts between the battery terminal + & - cables, (no battery connected) Obviously no voltage when hook up cable is removed. Is this how it should be?
You're measuring the output of the charger. What you've experienced can vary between different caravans and charger circuits, but generally what you've found is normal for the circumstances you mention.
Just make sure the terminals can't touch each other under these conditions.

The master switch only turns off the 12v circuit, the charger is still working while the 240v supply is connected. This can be turned off at the fuse board by removing the 240v supply to the charger.
