Hi we brought a coachman mirage 500/5, we have used it once for a hoilday and have never owned a caravan but its now stored on our drive, the battery is showing as in the red from the power management system even though its hooked up to mains, none of the lights are working in the van also,
a few questions on the power management system the symbols have faded so dont know what they mean?
how do i charge the battery from mains? what switches on the control panel need to be flicked, also what setting does the fuse board need to go on?
Hi, I don`t have knowledge of your specific van, and normally once ehu connected it should do the job.
Is your ehu actually bringing power into van? try the 240v lights.
Is there a seperate switch on your charger like mine, check it is in on position
Check charger fuse, could be on panel or on mains unit in locker.
Is the battery goosed and will not accept a charge, check voltage directly from battery.
Hopefully one of the above will solve.

The list is only for later Coachman caravans from 2004 onwards but the 'Mirage' range is a base model manufactured in the early 1990's.
In response to the OP, try contacting Coachman Caravans customer services in Hull for the related handbook as they sent one to me for my previous 1992 'Genius' model for a small fee.
Have a look where the 240 volt mains switches are as there should be an orange rocker switch in that location which states '12V' that switches on the battery power. Check to see if that is switched on otherwise the battery will not receive any charge from the onboard charger when connected up to the mains. Also check the blade fuses under the offside front seat near to the battery box to ensure that none have blown.
Hi Our previous van was a 1994 Genius SE, The unit as a fuse inside that can blow and stop charging. This usally happens when the van has had the electric feed run from a genni?
The OP's first post with no feedback once again. It makes you wonder why these people ask for advice in the first place if they can't reply with any feedback stating whether the problem was solved or not just as a matter of courtesy.
