I must be getting lazy but I wondered if there is any device that sends a warning to inside my caravan when the water level in the aquaroll is getting low.
I wish there was a clear strip on the aquaroll so it is easy to see the level from a distance.
------------- We camped for years. In 2019 we bought an Elddis Avante 454. We like it as it is short (6.9m) and fits in our driveway and has a fixed bed.
We had 127 nights away in the caravan in 2023.
We once had to suffer drinking 5l of French Rose wine from a Cave just so we could get the plastic container with the tap on the lid. This holds 5l of water and stays full at the beginning of each trip inside the van.
If we turn up on site and its 'issing down or late at night this does overnight for boiling a kettle or two and for the dogs to have a drink.
We monitor the contents of the water hog and if it gets low we fill it but we always have 5l available for emergencies!!
All in all our sacrifice all those years ago has been a worthwhile investment.
A teenage child is very handy for making sure you don't run out. We have two because we use the shower, and a system of filling one in the morning and evening.

That seems to be exactly the same as having one container...I don't see the advantage of that????
The benefit is, when it is persisting down which is usually is in the uk you can run out swap the pump and run back into your van. You can then refill at any point the rain stops.
If you don't you have to lift your pump, find something to lean it on so it doesn't get clogged with mud, attached your handle. Then walk to the water station which has been conveniently postioned at the other end of the site. Stand in the rain whilst drawing off 40 litres of water, walk it all the way back and then refit the pump.

Some people are dim you have 80 lite and not 40 lite
But you still have to make two trips to fill the barrels. You do not gain any more water.
Having two just means you still have water while you fill the other one.
Could not be bothered messing with two barrels just put your coat on if its raining.
The only advantage I can see if you use your own shower and need more water but you are still limited by the amount of hot water in the tank.
Lol...it's not dim, think it through. You still have to fill one when it empties. Only advantage is you don't have to fill immediately, if its chucking it down for example as since mentioned.
------------- I went to the top of the mountain...and looked over the other side!
Use what farmers used to do with reservoirs a flag on a pole with a float at the bottom. Contrive the pump to fit via the side port, and stick the flag device in the top hole. Various flags could be selected depending on taste and allegiances
Edit: with a stick long enough, it could be up by the window, and you could put masking tape on the window with each 5 odd litres marked with a marker pen and use red near the bottom as a aid to realising it is getting towards empty.
My early morning jobs are empty the toilet. and the grey waste. Wash my hand of course then check the Aquaroll and top it up. Works for me. We were on a fully serviced pitch at New Year and I finally got chance to use my mains fresh water supply to the Aquaroll. What a pleasure that was
