Considering attending this year's C&CC NFOL at the Three Counties Showground. Never having been to anything like this before, I'm wondering what to expect? We're a family of 4, so would prefer to have EHU. I note that the booking form says own sanitation essential - we're in a van, so ok on that side, but will there be any Elsan disposal points? There's no way we could last 5 days without emptying the loo! What about waste water disposal?
Still pretty new to caravanning, and have only stayed at full facility sites before. But we fancy getting together with other members and this looks like fun. But the practicalities are concerning me! Anyone have any experience/advice? Thanks!
Hi we have been in the club a long time and are a couple of oldies. I have always wanted to go to the NFOL . So because it is quite near to us I have book for this year .
What to expect I just hope it's what I imagine . We are only going for two nights though . I just hope we don't miss too much . Yes ehu and there will be disposal points . Plus water. The show grounds are used many times a year for different shows and caravans. it is a lovely location . But we have never stayed on the show ground . We always use Blackmore which is just down the road.
I shall be following this post for replies myself .

There will be zero chance of hookup. You will need to be totally sufficient for the whole 5 days so a good battery is a must.
There will be waste disposal points on site, and fresh water supplies to fill up your aquarol.
I would suggest locating your local DA (detailed on your membership card) and trying out a local rally before attending the NFOL. They will be able to assist you much better than any forum can.
"The facilities on site include limited electric hook up, toilets, catering units, large entertainment venue, quiet bars to name a few" - from NFOL website.
EHU (where available) will be 6 Amp according to the Booking Form.
We went a couple of years ago when it was very close to us. We had EHU, there were huge tanks for emptying the toilet and waste water (both in the same tank and my husband said it was gross!) We were pitched in tidy rows by marshalls. When you're set up you go along to the main marquee to collect details of whats going on.
There were a couple of rows of food sellers and trade. Lots of events to go to - dog competitions, marching bands, birds of prey display, music of all kinds etc The highlights are the parade of Pennons of all DA's where the teams dress up to a theme and walk around the site ending up in the arena. On the Saturday night its the Lantern competition where everybody wanders around to look at the displays which are fantastic - most DA's had a "street scene", again with a theme and its incredible the work that is put into them.
There's plenty to do, you won't be bored. We are glad we managed to go while it was in our area. Its amazing how many people go to them on a yearly basis wherever they are eg Scotland came down to ours in the New Forest.
