When we bought our present van it had been static on a storage yard for at least 4 years, possibly longer.
The roof was heavily coated in green algae and hard to shift with all the usual cleaners.
But Silky did the bizz, cut through the algae and brought the underlying paintwork up a treat.
A word of warning though, a little goes a long way. I stupidly bought 2 tins thinking I would need them for a van of my size. Only used half a tin and I have one unopened one still on the shelf.
When i was fit to wash my vans i some times used Silky.
It was a bit of work using it but it did bring the van up shining,
I now have a guy who is a pro at washing vans and he uses Fenwicks caravan cleaner.Ive used it myself but its the way this guy uses it.
He sprays it on with a garden bottle sprayer then leaves it for about 10 mins then he sprays it again but this time washes it all off.Now and again he will use a brush.(Roof)
You can then see 6 months of moss and dirt running down the sides of the van.
He then sprays one side of the van with Fenwicks then goes round and does the other.Once thats done then he washes it all off with one of those brushes that fits to a tap.
I then wax and polish it with Showroom shine from Grease lightning and this keeps it clean for the caravan season.
I tried to use it and couldn't get it to go on the sponge, Then the other day I was cleaning the black streaks off the van using the Aldi Black Streak remover well what a waste of time, Then I remembered that I had bought some Silky so I went to get it and with a really wet sponge I rubbed a big dollop of silky onto the sponge and went to work realising that I had too much on I then rubbed a bit off back into the tub I then went to work on the van and to be quite honest I was amazed at how clean it brought up the van especially the yellowy plastic frames from the battery box and the likes. The dollop did the whole van plus there was so much residue left in the sponge. I know what I will be using in the future for my Black Streaks.
Although we wash our van using Fenwicks, followed by Bobby Dazzler, which does leave a lovely shiny finish,we found that this didn't shift the black streaks, not even if we used the Fenwicks Black Streak remover, Gave Silky a try and they lifted straight off, no effort required at all so very impressed.
Wouldn't use Silky to clean the whole van though as it would take quite a while.

I've found if you use silky, next time you wash the van the black streaks come off no problem with just fenwicks caravan cleaner.
That's good to know, thank you. When we next get down to the van I'll give it a go.
beware of using Greased Lightning on a dampish or coldish day. Leaves a cloudy finish that is impossible to polish out and you have to start cleaning all over again! I use Fenwicks and Bobby Dazzler to finish. Greased Lightning only if its warm and dry (living in N Ireland thats not very often lol)
