Hi there, can any help please??
We have a Bailey Ranger GT60 caravan 2009 & have just encountered a problem with all the outside lights not working...but only on one side!!
Having plugged it into the truck only the passenger side marker and tail lights would come on. We wiggled and wiggled and tried again and again but nothing changed. The only things we can think of that have changed since they all last worked is that a number plate has ben screwed on the back, so could have screwed through a cable...maybe?? & the other is that we've had a new solar system fitted but is still 12volt and just replaces the old small battery for a big one with panel system fitted, but wouldn't think that the outside lights would be wired into the inside anyway...or maybe we're wrong???
If anyone can shed any light on this to help us out with what to try as we're stumped!!
Thanks so much for taking the time to read :0)
Ah great, thanks for that...hell there's alot going on in connection hey! Not sure if I can follow it all but can check that the connections are working...I hope! Will go n check that now. Very many thanks :0)
The leisure battery and solar panel in the caravan are nothing to do with the road lights. They are powered from the car. Assuming they were working it is most likely a loose connection in the plug or the plug itself has dirty or corroded pins etc.
Is it a 13 pin socket on the car. The plug on the caravan should be 13 pin on a 2009 caravan. Is it 7 pin on the car with an adaptor, is so the adaptor may have a fault.
Can you plug it into another car. That way you know if its the car or caravan at fault.
Thanks very much for all your help...having had another long afternoon finding, tracking, testing connections and cables...changed the 7 pin plig for a new one...but still not working...I was almost ready to give up but then took a wire straight from the new 7pin plug to the first T off connection to the right marker light and bingo...lights all on!! So even though the cable from the plug looked totally good and new there must be a break on the brown cable in there somewhere!! So as a temp fix, until I can get some new cable, I've connected the brown for the right live to the black on the left live...all working fine...hooray :0) You couldn't believe how much of a bloody nightmare that was...but SO happy I've got it sorted now and thanks for the help guys :0)
