I normally go to club sites where I have a lead from the bollard straight into the tv. Never used the ariel yet.
Is it just a case of flicking the switch so its on, hoisting it up and then aligning it. There is an aeriel point near the front chest of drawers, so do I put the lead from that point into the tv?
As you are using your own aerial you will firstly need a signal booster otherwise known as a power pack that is compatible with the TV aerial you have. The Coax cable goes into the power pack via the 'IN' port and the TV connects to the 'OUT' port. You then need to switch on the power pack to which a light will illuminate to show power is on and then you need to position the aerial accordingly. The same set up applies to a caravan with a fixed roof aerial except with an omni-directional aerial you don't have to position each and every time.
What make of TV aerial do you have and do you have the corresponding power pack?
The caravan aerial will have a booster next to it make sure it's on (red light on) undo the locking ring and push it up. The little handle on the bottom turns it from a horizontal plane to a vertical one. Never used a signal finder yet just look at other vans to get a rough idea of direction and have a play around.
I assumed the OP was referring to the type of TV aerial attached to a pole on the 'A' frame, that's why I asked what make (or type) they have because then you can offer the correct advice. A little more info from the OP would help.
at the end video he says "IF THE SIGNAL WAS NOT VERY GOOD I WOULD BE A BIT WORRIED". so would i if i was parked next to him.
What is he trying to do ,contact aliens from outer space???
Sorry, it's the aeriel that came with the caravan, so fixed in the roof. Not sure of the model number but it's a directional one rather than an omnidirectional.
There's what I assume is a power pack in the wardrobe with a switch.
