Hi all, I am a foster carer and our little 20 month placement was supposed to leave us before our Easter holiday, but I have just heard that she may be coming with us. There just isn't the space inside our caravan for her travel cot, so I was wondering if I could fashion a regular tomy style bed guard to fit on our Elddis Avante 636 bottom bunk to keep her safe in bed - its only 4 nights so I don't want to do anything too drastic.

Any ideas much appreciated thank you!

Depends if you are wanting to just protect against falls, or prevent wandering around.

Some options:

Put cushions on the floor next to bunk incase little one rolls out.

Alternatively it might be possible to remove bunk slats and put the mattress lower down, making a cot.

a regular bed guard will fit but may need the tubes cutting a bit shorter due to the narrow bed width.

Thank you, I do have that white guard somewhere. I need to get into the caravan and have a try with it. I don't really need to keep her from wandering as she is very good at calling out to be picked up from bed. Its just that changes of sleeping arrangements at this age can become a bit of a big deal if I don't get it right.
