The impending arrival of our little freedom has gone back a little though. We have just been sent pictures of the one we were going to look at, at the weekend, and to say she had a hard paper round is putting it mildly. Don't really want to start doing her up too much when she gets here (other than dressing her proper like) and this poor little soul needed far more than a plump cushion or two.   I get the feeling that the bloke (polish) is shipping them in from Poland, as he seems to get a new one pretty much every week to sell, and I haven't seen the pics of this one anywhere before (and I search all the sites on a three times daily basis).   Any thoughts on imported Freedoms?
Thanks again, Lynne x

I bought mine from the dealer. I think if you wheel & deal you would not need to import. Our van apart from the initial teething issues it was a great little van with no repairs needed. We had it for 4yrs and travelled far and wide. We are upgrading to a larger van as we have grown out of it. But I would recommend them.
Good luck in your search.

I think it would be good if it is CRIS registered as that will make it easier to sell when you want to.

They are pretty robust and the earlier ones didn't have much kit so little to go wrong.

The roof lining is probably one of the main problems when it comes unstuck.

We took ownership of our new Jetstream 1st Class a few weeks ago and we ventured out in her on Monday. Quite easy to tow with our 1.6 Nissan Note auto but very close to the Gross Train Weight with everything else needed for camping.
One thing to remember: The advertised weight is for 750Kg but if you have a caravan mover and leisure battery fitted, this will push the weight up to 800Kg.    We had our caravan uprated to 850Kg but this didn't leave a lot of load capacity remaining.

Caravan is very easy to set up though a little tight for space inside. This caravan is ideal for my wife and I having just moved from a folding camper.
We have an additional awning and this doubles the space. We have decided that if we use the awning, we will leave the bed down and use the awning space for living area, otherwise we will fold sleeping bag away.
As the awning is smaller than for larger caravans, it was quite easy to erect once we had fathomed the poles jigsaw!
Although there is restricted space inside we found we could easily sit at the table from both sides. Toilet is fine (20 ltr capacity), but I don't think we would use the shower unless we had to (very small area to move around in).
Gas heater worked extremely well especially as the nights we were away were very cold and wet!
All-in-all my wife and I like the Jetstream and can't wait for our next trip out at Easter (hope the weather is better).

Got our unit from main dealer Freedom Caravans based in Little Hayward near Stafford.

Hope this helps

Allan

Thank you everyone for responding. I am going to avoid the small time importers and look for a private seller. In fact hopefully we are going to look at an older but in better condition van this weekend and just need to ask a few more questions. It also has an awning which we agree with Nuttyal should be a must have. We aren't too bothered about having the 'bathroom' section and would prefer the extra seating so that we can keep the bed down. So.. we will see what happens next. Fingers crossed it doesn't go before we get there. Just need to order the towing mirrors and we all set for action.
Thanks again
Lynne

Don't forget you will need a car reg. plate for the caravan as well. Something I nearly forgot when I changed my car! :)

We had a freedom sunseeker a few years ago, although it was small, it was my favorite camping unit! An we've had a few!

We brought it off EBay, local to us, then went everywhere in uk and France in it, sold it (for more than we brought it for) for a full size Bailey, which was lovely. But a pain to tow, heavy on petrol and fit on the drive.
I'd definitely buy another Freedom, they are sturdy and like a tardis inside, it did have a baggy wall lining in bits, but think the newer ones don't have the felt stuff any more x

P.S they are also a reasonable price, compared to Eribas and other small vans. I always hit my head on the smaller doors on those, where as Freedoms have full height door!

Hi Tanya,
Thank you so much for thinking of me. However, we are now the happy owners of our own little Freedom Sunseeker, who we bought at the weekend. Thrilled to pieces with her. Thank you again x

Thank you so much. Im absolutely over the moon with Little Gertie, and although she is ready to go (apart from getting her insured) I am already making plans for changing her curtains, covers, painting the cupboards - all things are are totally not necessary as she is in classic dark blue and cream, but I want to make her feel mine, and not someone elses. I think you can definitely see I am already in love with my little freedom. x

Thats brilliant. I'll print it off and put it in our little folder. The guy who we bought her off had spent a couple of years doing her up, so she is fully stripped out and re roofed and walled etc., - there are even photos to show her during the makeover.
