Have just been reading up on the weights for our new van and I'm a bit confused. The manual says:
MTPLM: 1800
MRO:1670
User Payload: 125
Essential Habitation: 66
Personal Effects:125
Now being the control freak I am I have been weighing all the stuff I intend to put in it. am I right to think all the stuff going in should not exceed 160??

The Miro is the weight of the caravan when it leaves the factory and the MTPLM is the total maximum weight allowance fully loaded. The weights are calculated by subtracting the Miro from the MTPLM which then gives you the user payload. In this instance 1800 minus 1670 = 130 kgs of payload which what the 125 defines. The essential habitation is just a pure estimation as to what is necessary so is just a basic guideline but the 66 kgs. is part of the user payload so this is subtracted from the 130 kgs. which is 64 kgs. Providing you don't exceed the user payload of 125 kgs. you will be okay.
The best way is to load the caravan with all the necessary equipment (including the awning and poles) and then take it to a weighbridge and adjust as required from those results.

I think the Essential habitation 66Kg is included in your MRO. If this had to come out of your 125Kg payload you would be left with no food or clothes!
P.S. Best thing to do is to take it to a weighbridge and make sure you are not over your MTPLM when loaded. Even the figures quoted by the manufacturer are subject to some variation.
