Hi we have camptech awning just put it up for second season. We colorcoded poles but still was nightmare.poles came apart. Just wondering what others do or can you spring load the poles yourself for making it easier 😧
We only put it up once a year as we are on a seasonal pitch so takes a bit of remembering what goes where the thing is the poles have 2 or 2 sections together and some had come apart that was the problem. A friend has the spring poles that stay together . Makes it a lot easier .
If you colour coded the poles when they were connected it doesn't matter if they came apart or if they are absent of internal connecting springs, you just re-connect them as identification by colour. I thought that was the idea in the first place to simplify the task of assembly and to to save any confusion or am I missing something?
once you have it all assembled use a drill and bore some small holes right through to the centre, of the joints, then use small self taping screws, leaving the 3 way joints free, then when you take it down, just store the long poles as they are, on the floor of the van.
Buy some pole spring links available at most caravan accessory suppliers. Not expensive and will help keep them together, but still need colour coding.
