Well now seems to be the time for folks to bring their caravans out of winter storage, set them up all ready for the open road this spring/summer.
We on the other hand have just sold ours, ready for a busy season at our B&B on the Suffolk coast. We will be looking at getting another one come September, to use over the winter.
A question has just occurred to me - does anyone ever share their van in the periods they dont use it? I mean, rather than having their pride and joy sitting in winter storage doing nothing and costing money, does anyone ever think of saving the storage costs by 'sharing' or 'renting' their van for UK touring during the winter months when they dont want to use it?
We've actually wondered whether to buy a van in the winter, use it ourselves, and then loan or rent it to another family for them to use it in the summer when we can't get away - or whether to find someone with a van we could do the same for in the winter.
If u are buying at the end of the traditional season and selling when others at looking to buy you should be able to caravan for free in terms of depreciation.
