Hi I posted last year about our camptech awning which we thought was too big . We took it down and measured it coachman festival 2008 awningrRaul ground to ground was 980 we bought 975 . 1000 awning. Put it up last week centralised it everything properly . But still on the sides it's touching floor and am having to peg through the tape on three awning . Don't know how to resolve it at all front is OK just the sides .The front is onthe floor but you can add ladders to it on lowest and it pegs and looks oOK sides look baggy ,and flap like mad in wind . Any help appreciated . X
We've just looked at the photo in your gallery and it's hard to see the problem as every time I turn the tablet round to look at it from the correct angle the tablet corrects itself and turns the picture on its side again!
It looks like you have too much material in the roof section so the sides are too low. Have you measured the awning to see that it is the 975-1000 size? Could you raise the caravan by a few inches so that the sides could be pegged out and tighten the fabric? Is the awning rail much lower than normal? Camptech don't seem to specify an awning rail height in their specifications so it may be worth asking them what height it should fit.
You've probably tried all this already but it's all that comes to mind at the moment.

Another quick thought; are your side walls vertical? All the pictures on the Camptech website show the sides flaring out so if your walls are vertical you will have excess material that you will not be able to tension and stop flapping.
Side are slightly out but can try more tomorrow tbh we have never had this problem before with any awning only this one to say I'm not happy is an understatement . It's causing arguments I have just been out now and pu some foam pipe covering over the poles so we can't hear the flapping as much we phoned camptech and measured our van it's the correct size so don't know what's going on. We were going to raise the van but can't now the awnings back up . As can't get underneath van because of wooden floor . It drove us nuts last year x
Hope you get it sorted, we had a Camptech Savanna brought it last year and used it once, like you we were very disappointed with it
I thought the fit was terrible and the zip on the main door broke on the first day. I suppose being Chinese and the price it was I should of known better having had Dorema and Isabella in the past. We were lucky in that the dealer took it back and we brought a Bradcott from him.
Like I say I hope you get it sorted, it's not nice when you spend your hard earned cash on something only to he disappointed with it.
one of the best awnings we had was from NR awnings - unfortunately they got hit in the floods over christmas, lost all their machinery, stock, work in progress the lot:( They couldnt get insurance because of the risk, so theyve now closed up shop.
I emailed them to say how sorry we were, and they said they couldnt carry on because of the undercutting by Chinese imports:(
Looking at your profile picture it looks to me that the awning is slightly too big. We had this problem with the awning that came with our caravan, in the end we took it to have 60 cms taken from the roof section. As you are on a seasonal pitch you may be able to slope the sides outward a little more to make it taught.
It seems a bit tauter now as we used a hercules on it.and pegged the sides out slightly . One zip kept sticking and also we told glossop caravans we thought it was the wrong size and they told us to raise the van . Never sai they would exchange it and we only had it 2 months then said we would need to contact manufacturer as some of the pole clamps were slipping . Got it as best we can and it looks better . Like you say it is annoying when you spend hard earned money on something like this and your happy with it . Having said that I'm happier than last year it looks better as we had it slightly off centre last year which didn't help. I have contacted camptech in Yorkshire and told them what I think of the awning and how unhappy I am .Also they haven't specified an awning rail height Glossop told us it was the ex employees of Dorema that have set up and are making them x
