We have a 6 berth, fixed bed with fold out bunks. Last year our baby slept in her moses basket on 1 of the bunks as she didnt move much. This year she is always on the move. Does anyone have any suggestions as to the best bet for sleeping arrangements. I have looked at bed guards etc but just looking for suggestions.

I second the travel cot idea. In fact when my two were small having a 'travel playpen' was the only thing that saved my sanity at home or when away. It's just great putting them down somewhere knowing you can turn your back for one second and they'll still be there!

Don't know how many other kids you have. But I would be tempted to put 16m old in inside of fixed double with parent on other side so they don't roll out in the night. other grown up on bottom bunk or made up double at the front. Trick will be keeping them still til they are asleep.

I fashioned a net curtain effort when my youngest was tiny. Kept him penned in the bottom bunk.

I'd agree with the travel cot. Also useful as some where safe to put them when you are cooking, etc.   We put our DS in one when he was little. In those days they were huge beasts compared to how small they are today. We actually stood it on the floor between the beds, but if you got one of the pop up ones you would probably be able to sit it on the bed. You might want a bed guard on too to stop them rolling off though.

Not quite the same, but when we camped with children of a similar age we had them both in travel cots - Babydan I seem to recall.

As others have pointed out, they can be used during the day as playpens or for daytime naps outside - in the shade - if inside gets too hot.

Our twenty month grand daughter at the time claimed our quadrant shower as her house, so we made her up a bed in there which she loved. We could put clip on top of doors to stop her going walk a bouts she soon let you know if she wanted out if we were still a sleep by rattling the doors or shouting nana she could not say grand dad so I was dada- dada and my son daddy.
They only have to mention caravan in my sons house and she has her coat on and toys packed in her shopping bag so far we have not had any terrible twos but have to be careful what you do, as she has only to see you do something once and she copies. She can turn tv on and change channel to cebe,s yet can only count to three

Hi There,

A few years ago I was in this very same situation.

I looked at bed guards but they were not long enough and you will find that the hook points maybe too long for the width of the caravan bed.

I ended up going to B&Q and purchased a long thin shelf of good quality wood. I used some hinges and screwed to the bunk slats. This created a bed guard the full length of the bed.
