I've only towed the caravan once when we picked it up and all went well. Tomorrow we are off on our first trip but the winds are meant to be up around 40mph as we travel across to Norfolk.
Should we put it off for a day will it be fine? Any advice/experience welcome at this twelfth hour.
Its a difficult one to call, but personally i wouldnt want to be towing a caravan where the wind speed is forecast to be 40mph at times - i am quite an experienced tow-er, but my preferred limit would be sub-30mph - the only time i would take a van out in anything over that was if i absolutely had to and even then i wouldnt be taking any exposed route.
Others may have differing opinions on this and all advice/experiences would be welcomed im sure, but if i had the choice i'd postpone until i knew the predicted winds were below 25-30mph.
good luck:) - let us know what you decide in the end!!

I would delay too! Not worth the risk, especially if you are new to towing the van!Wind speeds should have dropped you Tuesday and the traffic is likely to be better too.
------------- Better a rainy day in a tent than a sunny day in the office!
Stay at home for today there are some really evil gusts at the moment in here Norfolk and I certainly wouldn't tow in this weather, phone the site and come tomorrow when the weather is going to be calmer.
Sorry for the late reply but just to say we delayed by a day and couldn't have had better weather over the next 5 days. Thanks for the advice it was much appreciated.
