Hi all need some urgent help,!!!
My van is only 3 years old and as I write this we are away with the family and last night i went to turn gas fire on as getting very cold and after I release the igniter buttoon the gas flame puffs intermittently and electric spark cuts back in when flame goes out.
If I hold the button down it lights again but as soon as I release it, it acts up?
After a half an hour twiddle I have now got to the stage where i can keep it alight if I keep the temp knob down below 3 but as soon as I try to turn it up it starts spluttering again.
Appreciate any help
Graham

I know it seems obvious but is there plenty gas in cylinder and cylinder turned right on ? As sounds starved of gas. Could also be blocked jet but I'd have thought that unlikely on such a new van. Only other thing I can think of is the old favourite thermocouple although usually if that's the case it won't stay lit atoll when button released
I've heard of heaters that work when serviced but suffer from spiders before the caravan gets used again, apart from that I'd go along with the comments above. Are all the other gas appliances ok?
Thanks for the replies guys, yes it was ok after it was serviced although it would only have been on a couple of times at the end of last season
Yes plenty of gas in bottle and everything else working fine.
I agree with your thermocoupling and jet theories, seems unlikely!!!
