I'm a CC member and like most of you I cringed at what I saw and thought what a load of idiots the contestants and judges where. I'm no way a caravanning expert But after seeing them attempt the tasks, I thought, I can do better than them and I felt quite good about myself. The one exception being the white glove cleanliness test, I wouldn't have won that, I go on holiday to relax and enjoy myself not clean, that happens between holidays.
Watched the first one on i-player.
Hmmm.
Caravan Club didn't come out of it very well, I thought. Especially the chairman bloke who didn't have the sense to see that the slope he was trying to tow up was impossible. Having a motorhome driving judge who didn't "get" caravanning was just peculiar.
Why ban movers when many of us use them for the kind of tight situations the "skills" tests involved. Do they not know its the 21st century.
The one positive was watching the lady who had never towed before reversing round corners. That was lovely.

Just watching this on iplayer, it's rather entertaining the more wine you drink whilst watching...
I imagine the contenders were chosen for their 'quirkiness' and ' viewability' they are all rather unusual... But then the world would be very boring if we were all 'normal'.
I hate sat navs so must remember the finger on the map at all times!!!
Me and the OH have just watched both recorded episodes back to back last night as she's been working opposite shifts to me, so we decided to watch together once we got the chance...
Cringe TV. End of...
OK, people did pick up on GC riding in the back of the MH, side on and 'probably' with no seatbelt.
Is that why the camera was stuffed into his face so you couldn't see....???
And also, while on that part of the programme....
It was a time trial / competiton / race ON THE PUBLIC HIGHWAY!!!!!
So did their insurance cover it???
I know mine will NOT have!
All insurance policies that I've had in the past says in the print, 'This does not cover you for races, competitions or time trialetc....' (or similar words to that affect)...
It doesn't take much for an insurer to maybe 'investigate' this. All the evidence has just been broadcast! Named driver, vehicle reg and the 'race' detail......
Type that into their computers and................
Let's see if this post disappears?[I/]
As I've seen on the forum, a few peoples posts have disappeared strangely...
Wonder if mine will since I highlighted the insurance issue???
