I havn't used the cooker hob for over a year. Changed cylinder, and tried hob. The burners lit after a while but were not burning evenly around, let the knob go and they went out. I'm surmising there maybe air in the system after changing. Can anyone advise?
Thanks, Ernie

As daft as it sounds have you checked that the removable gas rings are in there correct position ??? If there slightly of balance then the gas flow will be disturbed...

Thanks for replying, but these are not rings but round tops secured with an allen screw. I removed one expecting the surrounding jet holes to be clogged, but all perfectly clean. The cooker is a Voyager 2000. Maybe there's air in the line from changing the cylinder, I'll give it another try tomorrow. Thanks
Ernie

It sounds very much like there is still air in the gas pipe which can take a while for the pressure to reach the gas ports and expel any remaining air in the pipe therefore it can take several goes before you achieve a perfect flow of gas.

Could be rust build up, try cleaning or blowing them out with a compressed air aerosol

Hi Paul B, I did mention I'd dismantled one of the burners, and found the jet holes perfectly clean.
Thanks for replying.

Well, I'm surprised no one else has seems to have experienced this problem. I've read on other webs of thermocouples failing, but I'd have thought not being used, they'd stay ok.

Now stop racking your brains all you experienced campers out there, this 83yr old novice has solved it. You just keep the switch pushed in for ages and eventually you get a nice even ring of blue flame!

Even LP of Bolton who made the Voyager 2000 could not be bothered to reply to my email,...probably thought stupid old so and so!

Keeping the knob pressed in for longer proves that it must have been just air in the pipe which resulted in the continuous blue flame.
Well, at least you got it sorted without having to replace anything.

Yes, that was a relief tango55, having replaced batteries, tyres, timing belt, in preparation for selling this low mileage camper, I wasn't looking forward to replacing thermocouples.
Thanks for your input tango55.
All the best, Ernie
