I've posted before but we are still undecided about whether to take the plunge and get a caravan. Does anyone know of any campsites you can actually hire a touring caravan to stay in? I've never actually slept in one so I think it would help us decide. I've had a quick google but can't come up with anything yet.

Just had a quick look and found several places where you can hire a caravan. Why not hire one for a weekend, tow it to a local site, and try it there?

Just google "caravan hire".

Not sure where you are located, but I know of two rental places around the derbyshire area.

Thanks. The problem is our current car isn't able to tow a large enough caravan for 5 of us so we would need either one already on a site or a company that will tow to one. We have a trailer tent at present. We are planning on changing the car soon but hanging on until we make a definite decision about a caravan.

If your serious about buying, a dealership maybe able to give you a taste of caravanning with a field or site close to them.

Im sure Canwell caravans (if they are still going) offered that option?

Others may also.

As said some hire places will tow to a site for you (for an additional costs of course). Or see if you can find a site that hires them in situ. I know of one site that does this, but it is all the way down near Devizes, so a bit of a trek from Chester!
