We have just acquired an old Perle caravan which I believe is pre Avondale can anyone tell me how to date it please?

Thanks for the link but this caravan is at least 40 years old so I can't find anything there I'm afraid.

You asked how to date a caravan but you didn't provide any other information as to roughly how old it which would have helped.

I can remember Perle caravans which were built by Avondale in the early to mid 90,s. There is a database on .com which might be of use to you.

Thanks all, I have found a plate with the following: 6. 78   0143 I thought at first that maybe a 1978 but glass windows were no longer fitted after 1976 ???

Glass windows really finished in 1979 ..... for the 1980 model year everything had plastic windows.

The Perle range kept it's glass windows till 1979, so yours could be a 78.
